３月１７日にアメリカ・ノースキャロライナで開催される『東日本大震災チャリティーコンサート
★Hands Across the Sea Benefit Concert @Joslyn Hall in North Carolina on Saturday, March 17, 2012 with Juancho Herrera
来る3／12 (土）にノースキャロライナのJoslyn Hallで津波のチャリティーコンサートを行います。ニューヨークから、素晴らしいギタリストJuancho Herreraを率いての演奏になります。もしもノースキャロライナにお知り合いがいらっしゃる際には、お知らせお願いします。全ての義援金は、気仙沼を中心に活動している"海は森の恋人"団体に寄付されます。どうぞ宜しくお願いします。
地元で応援してくださっている、ＧＲＯＯＶＹのマスターママのご紹介で京都大学名誉教授の田中克先生と出会いがありました。田中先生のお友達のノースキャロライナの方々が、日本に何かできないだろうか？と田中先生におっしゃり、そこで、チャリティーコンサートという形でニューヨークから素晴らしいギターリストＪＵＡＮＣＨＯ ＨＥＲＲＥＲＡをつれて、演奏しにいくことになりました。田中先生も講演のために、日本からはるばるいらっしゃいます。
気合いれてニューヨークからＮＣにいってきます！
Not long after the devastating earthquake and Tsunami hit the north-eastern Pacific region of Japan (March 11, 2011) Don Hoss, retired Director of the NOAA (...National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration) Lab in Beaufort, contacted his friend, Kyoto University Professor Masaru Tanaka(sea longing to forest) and said, “What can we do to help?” His surprising answer was “sponsor a Jazz benefit”. Now, almost a year to the month later, that suggestion has become a reality. New York jazz vocalist, Japanese-born Erika Matsuo, accompanied by jazz guitarist Juancho Herrera will perform at Joslyn Hall on the campus of Carteret Community College on Saturday, March 17 at 7 pm. Admission: $20 Donation. Sponsors for this event are Carteret Crossroads, Carteret Community College, the Arts Council of Carteret County.
★Ticket Sites: Teachers Pet, Morehead City and Carteret County Libraries in Otway, Beaufort, Pine Knoll Shores & Cape Carteret.
*All proceeds will promote education and research that will assist in the restoration of the fishery habitat and fishing community of Moune,("the forest longs for the sea") in Japan.
